Trusting the Process: Overcoming Self-Doubt and Pushing Forward

Hey my lovely readers, how are you?

Have you ever sat down and wondered, who are the people that really push you to aim higher? The ones who lift you up when self-doubt creeps in, who make you believe that even on the toughest days, you can keep going?

For me, it’s not just my support network, my mother, sister, and uncle but my daughter. She’s my constant reminder to keep moving forward, even if I’m only taking small steps. Everything I do, every achievement I strive for, it’s all for her future. And honestly, that makes it all worth it.

But here’s the thing: while family is important, you have to be the one to keep showing up for yourself. No one’s going to do it for you. YOU have to decide that you’re worth it.

The Struggle with Self-Doubt

Let’s face it right, self-doubt can get the best of us, especially if we’re perfectionists. If you're anything like me, when things don’t go perfectly, those doubts start whispering. “Maybe I should just give up,” or “This isn’t meant for you.” It’s a constant internal battle.

One time I hosted a free event for The Shenanigans Club. 40 women registered, but guess what? Only one person showed up. Twice. At first, I thought it was embarrassing. I asked myself why this was happening: Am I doing something wrong? Why isn’t anyone showing up after all the effort?

But then, something clicked. Those women who attended? They were there for a reason, and it taught me so much. From those small events, I gained new friends and learned important lessons. Sometimes the turnout might not be what you expect, but there’s always a reason and that reason isn’t always in our control.

It was a reminder for me that everything doesn’t need to be perfect, and you can’t measure progress by the size of the crowd. Sometimes, it's about the quality, connections and the lessons you learn along the way.

Embrace the Journey, Not Just the Destination

You’ve probably heard this a million times but it’s really a marathon, not a sprint out here. And let me tell you, that’s the truth! We all want things to move quickly, especially when we’re chasing goals, but real success takes time.

With my social club, I have sooo many ideas I want to implement, but I’m pacing myself. I understand this isn’t a race; it’s about enjoying the process and learning along the way. Not every step will be fast or easy and guess what? That’s alright.

Sure, I have my moments where I feel frustrated, want to yank my wig off in the middle of the street and scream as loud as hell or just get on a flight, and never come back but I’ve learned to just breath, call my therapist or my uncle. Sometimes, we need a little rain before we can enjoy the sunshine. Don’t let setbacks stop you, they’re part of your growth.

The Key to Keeping Going: Show Up for Yourself

It’s normal to feel defeated sometimes. But the most important thing you can do for yourself is to keep showing up, no matter how small your steps are.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve told myself, “Today wasn’t epic, but still moved forward, do you want Ny to think you just give up at every obstacle?” (Ny is my daughter) and then I kept pushing for more the next day. And that’s the energy I encourage you to adopt too. It’s all about making progress, even if it doesn’t look how you want it to right now. You're building yourself up every single day, no matter how small the win.

I know things don’t always go as planned, but that doesn’t mean they won’t get better. When doubt creeps in, remember: faith without works is dead. So keep working, keep showing up, and trust the process.

  • Your Strength Doesn’t Lie in Perfection

Here's the thing I want you to take away: It’s okay if everything doesn’t always go right. Perfection isn’t the goal growth is. Success doesn’t happen in an instant, and no one wins all the time. The most important part of your journey is NOT giving up.

Just remember this, when the road feels tough and the doubts start settling in, all that matters is you’re still here, still trying, and that will pay off.

So no matter how tough it gets, keep showing up for yourself. Every small step you take brings you closer to where you’re meant to be. So, stay strong, stay consistent, and watch as you slowly but surely reach your goals.
